Pros:The pick up location at loews hotel hollywood was closed. No one informed us about that. We wasted a lot of time wondering what was going on. Then we went to 1333 N highland ave for nearest avis. The lady working there was extremely rude. Had 0 idea about customer service. She made it seem like she was giving us the car for free. I booked an SUV and they didn’t even have an suv. I appreciate they had a car for me, but it was Avis’s fault in the first place to close down a location and not inform peopleReviewed 15 Feb 2021

Cons:Pick up was a disaster. When I went to pick up the car at my scheduled time, I found the entire pick up location was closed down. I had just booked the car two days before, and should have been notified that this location was closed. The Call Center was completely unhelpful, and I was disconnected three times, leaving me to explain the situation to three different representatives. I was put on hold for ten minutes to talk to a supervisor, who had no authority to do anything. I had to take a taxi to a different location who wanted to charge me three times the original price to rent the car. Bad experience!Reviewed 3 Feb 2021

Pros:Nice clean car and easy pick upCons:The car could not hold two suitcases in the back, since the design of the trunk of this car. We had to place one large suitcase on the back seat between the kids. For a long drive this was inconvenient. Additionally, it was very confusing where and how to drop of the car at the circus circus hotel. No signage and no information. I was not provided with an envelope to drop of the keys in the Dropbox. I guess the pick up location should have had this information, and I did ask but the personal at the pick up location did not know.Reviewed 27 Dec 2019

very poor communication all aroundPros:Bottom line, I wound up getting an upgrade for slightly less than the original price quoted.Cons:I had reserved a car the day before. I had a confirmation number and a price quote. I arrived to pick up the car and was told there was nothing available in the class matching my reservation and that I would have to pay more in order to rent something else that was available. I spent 45 minutes talking to the man working in the rental office and two different Avis customer service agents in order to finally convince them to do what should be automatic. Regarding rental availability, there seems to be very little communication between the Avis reservation system and the satellite rental lots, and zero communication between the lot and the customer.Reviewed 6 Sep 2018
